An Unusual De-Stresser

In this day and age where we are so stressed that we don’t even realize that we are stressed until we stop and take a breath and relax, it is nice to become aware of the things that bring us peace and relaxation. One thing that brings me more peace, calm and relaxation than anything else is a beautiful, clean and organized home.

Had you stepped into my home early this morning you would not have believed that I felt this way. You would think I absolutely loved chaos, confusion and disorganization. On my dining room table I am seated at one end with my laptop. To the right of me are papers, book and folders all the way down to the other end of the table. It was a sea of paper.

Between doing the “Ultimate Blog Challenge” and the “Claim It, Say It and Sell It Course, running my mobile dance school, preparing for a training I will be doing next Saturday and trying to fill that training, I have a really full plate. Not to mention my wifely and motherly duties of maintaining my household and keeping my family together.

I became robotic in a sense, just doing what needed to be done. It was definitely the squeaky wheel gets the oil going on in my life. Then my daughter, husband and I set out to clean our home. OMG!!!!!!!!!! I could not believe the wave of peace, satisfaction and contentment that washed over me. I even began to sing a song: “I love a clean house . I love a clean house.” My husband in his sarcastic voice chimed in “That’s good.”

I called my girlfriend and told her and promised that I would definitely be doing this more often and enlisting the help of the entire family. It was definitely worth the effort and I will be maintaining it for a long time.

Have you had an unusual de-stressers lately? Please share them with us. Maybe we can use them in the future. Please let me know.

  1. I too feel so much peace with a clean house. I feel so good when there is not clutter and dirt everywhere. Blogging and dealing with the kids sometimes that is not an easy task.

I know this to be true for Bertha, when ever there are more people than just you in the house it is bound to happen. Thank you so much for your comment and visiting my blog.

  2. I love a clean house, too, and always feel better when everything is in place. Going into the garden is a great de-stressor for me.
